Project Details

We were eager to begin on this project as the client was passionate about the look she wanted to achieve. In her ultimate dream master bathroom she wanted to incorporate the warm wood style as well as the modern updated look as well. She began designing her dream master bathroom with a Teak Shower Floor. We started manufacturing this Teak Shower Floor using 8/4 FEQ Burmese Teak Wood.  Milling to specs by running the rough planks on the planer, joiner and finally the table saw to achieve the final dimensions of battens.  We then started the assembly process by carefully selecting each batten by color and grain to achieve a uniformed look. Once assembled with wood glue , nails, and stainless steel screws we let sit overnight to ensure its stability. We then carefully inspect for any imperfections. Its now ready to sand and ship. This generally takes about 3 days from beginning to end. Throughout this process we were contacted by the client interested in incorporating a Teak Bench into the bathroom as well. We began this process very similar to making our Teak Shower Floors using 8/4 FEQ Burmese Teak. We follow the same steps as making our Teak Shower floors. A bull-nose was added to the face of the bench to give a clean look.  It also allows the bench to sit flat onto the top of the existing bench with a small overhang. This can allow more comfort when using bench.

Once the Teak Shower Floor and Teak Bench were completed we were ready to prepare for shipment. We sent pics of the the final floor and bench to the client as we usually do and she was ecstatic to get them home. But before we shipped she had one more thought to complete her dream master bathroom. Above her tub she had a fireplace installed for warmth on those cold wintry days in the north. She wanted our suggestions on incorporating a Teak frame around the fireplace to tie the beautiful wood with her newly Teak shower floor and bench. Luckily we had some pictures we sent her of a Teak Frame we had done for a previous client. Needless to say, we loved the idea and couldn’t wait to get started on her next project! Once dimensions were provided we began milling all the material to the desired specs.  Using 8/4 FEQ Burmese Teak we started assembling the Teak frame. Wood glue and biscuit jointing was used in assembling the frame to ensure stability. This process took about 3-4 days due to dry time.  Total project time for the Teak Shower Floor, Bench and Teak Frame took about 5 weeks. We were so happy to hear the client loved her three piece Teak set!!
