Custom FEQ Teak Floating Bench
We worked with a designer in Colorado looking to add a Teak Floating bench in their locker room shower. Client wanted to add the warmth of a natural product to the area.
Each batten was carefully milled to spec and fabricated using our proprietary glue, Stainless steel fasteners and teak bungs to finish the look. Each batten is carefully spaced evenly to allow water to flow through spacing. Support teak runners are placed on the bottom side for additional support.
Natural Teak Floating Bench
We left the teak in its natural state to compliment the area. But you can add an oil application to the wood to help prolong the teak over time. It is not a lengthy process but must be maintained over time. Typically this application should be reapplied every 6-12 months depending on use of area.
The oil can be applied using a brush or rag adding on generously on the top and bottom side of the product. It is recommended to let stand 24 hours to allow the oil to soak into the wood grain. We tend to use a Tung oil that is a more natural product with no extra petroleum in the oil. This process can be reapplied to add more protection or darker color to the product.
